Visa Types

Welcome to the website of the VFS Visa Application Centre for the Netherlands

This site provides information on procedures applicable to all Pakistani residents and Afghani nationals who wish to apply for a Caribbean visa or a short stay Schengen visa to travel to the Netherlands or Finland.

Schengen visa

A Schengen visa normally grants you the right to stay in the entire Schengen region. The Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

For a visit to one Schengen state, visa applications must be lodged at the Embassy/Consulate (or external service provider Gerry’s) of that particular Member State. If the visit includes more than one destination, visa applications must be lodged at the Embassy/Consulate of the Member State whose territory constitutes the MAIN destination of the visit(s) in terms of purpose / reason of travel. If the purpose of travel is the same for all Schengen countries visiting, for example a holiday, the visa application should be lodged at the Member State where you intend to stay the longest. If you plan to spend an equal amount of time in each Schengen country, submit your visa application to the embassy or consulate of the country you intend to visit first.

Whether you need a Schengen visa is dependent on your nationality. Click here for a list of countries whose nationals do not require a Schengen visa.

Should you require a short stay Schengen visa to the Netherlands or Finland, please read the information on this site about the different Schengen visa types carefully. Information is given about the required documents, visa fees, photo specifications and processing time per visa type: Tourist, Business, Visiting Friends and Relatives, Airport Transit, Visa facilitation for family members of EU/EEA and Swiss nationals and Return Visa’s. By following the guidelines on this website you will be able to submit your visa application together with the mandatory documents accurately. This will reduce the chances of your application being delayed or declined due to inadequate or incorrect submission of documents.
